Yasuko
Yasuko, a Japanese designer, began her career and passion for artistic creations in Sapporo Japan. There she attended Hokusei Women’s College, focusing her attentions on the study of fashion design. This launched her career with a Japanese apparel company and soon after, she followed her passion to New York where she then studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. A life long fascination with the inherent beauty and power of gemstones led her to dedicate herself to the craft of jewelry making. Her hand pierced romantic designs are inspired by the beauty of nature. Often utilizing techniques of Japanese metal workmanship to achieve the unique finishes on her collection, nature is the key inspiration beneath her designs.

Claire Uhlick
ReconFIGURE, featuring the work of Claire Uhlick and Samantha Williams, explores the relationship between imagination and reality. Uhlick blurs the lines between painting, drawing and sculpture in her organic web-like marks cut from paper. She investigates the fleeting and deceptive qualities of their shadows by manipulating them with lighting and graphite. Williams breaks the borders of traditional landscape painting by allowing solitary figures to become engulfed by the land in her large-scale paintings. This leads the viewer to question where the figure ends and the natural environment begins.

Concept Jewelry Design in July

Sarah Graham
By incorporating innovative materials with her exceptional design sense, Sarah Graham creates jewelry that is unlike anything else; organic, textural, with a muted palate that is subtly feminine, yet substantial; unique, yet universal in its appeal. It is the contrast in her jewelry—blackened steel juxtaposed with 18k yellow and white gold, textured and polished finish—that is its’ most eye-catching element, and it is the contrast in her jewelry that mirrors her life. Like the art itself, the artist’s path has been paved with freedom from convention.
