I am an artist and educator based in St. Albert, Alberta, Canada. I create realist charcoal portraits and nature-inspired paintings from my cozy (and sometimes chaotic) studio.

Hello! I am a local artist that has been living in St. Albert for the past 11 years. The inspiration for my pieces begins with the beautiful Korean paper Hanji (intricate paper produced from Mulberry Trees), and I love creating Korean Letter Art as it merges an abstract feel with Korean calligraphy.
I created pieces inspired by Korean traditional cultural things such as door/window designs and wrapping fabrics. I want to share this gorgeous paper and the beauty of Korean Culture.

Angela Stadlwieser
Angela will be exhibiting at Artwalk on: June 2 and July 7
I create works of art that are emotive and textured - you just want to feel them and stand close and far ... so many ways to look at a piece of art. My style is a mix of impressionism and expressionism - I create art that feels and speaks to the viewer. You can reach such a deep meaningful level with just one piece of art - even if (to the untrained eye) it is 'just a tree', 'just a street' or any other subject matter. Behind each painting, there is a story, perspective, experience and life within the captured moment - connection to what we are now and who we have become. For me - it is all about how it feels.

Bethany Turner
Bethany will be exhibiting at Artwalk on: May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4 and September 1
I have always had a deep connection to the land. When you look at my paintings I want you to hear the wind, smell the earth, or see the twinkle in an animal’s eye, just as I did. My impressionistic art is full of colour and texture, as the land around us is. Not always sticking to the natural colours of things, I instead use colour to portray how the subject makes me feel. I use gestural marks and prominent brushstrokes in acrylic paint, conveying movement and emotion. My father influenced my work, instilling in me love of nature and art. As a young man he would spend days in the woods, study traditional healing plants with an indigenous elder, and create art of the natural world around him. My connection to nature is his legacy, and I joyfully pass that beautiful connection on to others through my art.

I grew up in southern Ontario and moved to the Edmonton area 46 years ago. My interest in photography has spanned many years but I have really become serious about my art in the last 10 or so. My main focus is nature photography. I love capturing the majesty of our mountains, the grandeur of our sweeping landscapes, the breathe taking beauty of our many waterfalls and the bountiful wildlife we are so fortunate to have in Alberta. I look for those special intimate moments with my wildlife subjects and seek out the tranquil beauty in the countless vistas of this province we call home.

My name is Wendy Oor. In the spring of 2016 I received my first DSLR camera. This came at a point in my life where I definitely earned some me time. I joined the St. Albert Photography club in the fall of 2016. It was here that I met so many wonderful people and roll models. Over the last 6 years I have enjoyed photographing my travel experiences, landscapes, animals, wild life, cityscapes, flowers, sports and more recently people. The fact is I love all genres of photography.
I have been fortunate to have my photography displayed in the St. Albert Seniors Center, Good Earth Coffee shop, Fifendekel and most recently, The Drawn Home exhibit at the St. Albert Art Gallery.

St. Albert Photography Club - Italo Pino
Italo will be exhibiting at Artwalk on: July 7
My name is Italo Pino. I have called Canada my home for 65 years. For the last 34 years I've resided in St. Albert with my family. I have been interested in photography since I was 14 years of age and I first purchased an Instamatic camera. I have pursued photography as a hobby through all of my adult life. My camera was always on hand to observe, record and interpret. I took photography courses at NAIT practicing my skills in the darkroom developing both black and white, and color. During my thirty five years as a teacher my main focus was people and travel photography and I was both the official and unofficial school photographer, depending upon the setting. My photographic interests vary a lot more today. People and travel photography still dominate but macro, nature, creative abstracts, and still life have become mainstays.
I have been a member of the St. Albert Photo Club for the last six years. I've entered the clubs monthly photo competition each and every month. Today, I take photographs that I hope induce interest because they have an unusual perspective and presentation and will create a source of wonder and mystery. I like people to look at my photos and ask themselves, ”What is it?” or “How was that photographed?” Through it all I've strived to communicate more effectively with all my photographs.

Jim Kelcher
Jim will be exhibiting at Artwalk on: May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4 and September 1
I am an Edmonton-born photographer with a keen and long-standing interest in photography, and it continues to be my primary means of artistic expression. Training has largely been through self-study, although I have attended numerous courses and workshops. As an active member of Images Alberta Camera Club in Edmonton, I have presented my work within the club and in several public art displays.
My work is a personal interpretation of the world that I see, be it from distant travels or as close as my doorstep. I generally work with “found” subjects, emphasizing the most interesting characteristics of the scene to create a visually pleasing interpretation. Although heavily influenced by the methods of traditional film photography, I have an interest in exploring the many ways that scenes can be portrayed using different digital editing techniques.

She was captivated by how the artists were able to make marble and canvas come alive. Later, in her adult years, Tünde found countless opportunities to explore and expand her artistic talents, immersing herself in a variety of media - from water color to stained glass, oil painting to beading, and dancing to sculpture. For the past 25 years, Tünde has found her greatest passion in oil painting. Through over 18 years of studies with local professional and visiting international artists, Tünde has honed her craft. Many of her subjects reflect her Hungarian heritage; however, portraiture has become her favorite genre, in which she is inspired to capture a subject’s unique expression in oils. Tünde was commissioned by our former Premier Ed Stelmach to paint his official Premier’s portrait for the Alberta Legislature which was unveiled December 3, 2012. Exhibitions of Tünde’s work have been held at a numerous locations and events, including the Cross Cancer Institute, the Western Canadian Hungarian Folk Festival, Pro’s Art Gallery, Misericordia Hospital and the Legislature.

Emerging oil painting artist, Tara Kapoor, was born in 2001 in Edmonton, Alberta where she continues her practice. Since 2014, she has been refining her painting skills, displaying artwork in local venues, and selling her work. In 2019, she received an International Baccalaureate certificate in Visual Fine Arts. Combining hard science with the fluidity of art was inspired by her current education in kinesiology and life sciences. This allowed her to express what she learns in the lecture hall and fuse it with nature to create juxtaposed pieces that unify a currently divided humanity, in its most stripped form. Tara Kapoor’s passionate work exposes the undeniable relationship we all face with life, death and beauty.

Shooting black and white has allowed me to slow down and create images which are not distracted by color. The simplicity of black and white produces a calming effect and allows the viewer to see things which would not be seen if the image was in color.

I have always been creative, with a bright and spontaneous personality that is reflected in my art. My backgrounds are splashed on with vibrant color, then I begin painting my aspen trees. I settle in and focus on the process. The repetition of creating my trees is calming and soothing, like a walk in the woods.
We live in Sturgeon County, on twenty acres filled with aspen trees. I love to walk through the woods, especially at twilight. The atmosphere is quiet. Mysterious. A breeze suddenly rustles the leaves, making a sound like nothing else. I peer into the deepest parts of the woods and wonder what secrets the trees are hiding in there. This is what inspires me to create on my canvas, and why I share my art with you.

I aim to describe the underlying condition of all things in one word -Perspective- The perspective balance between right and wrong, good and evil and all things in between. When a tree can be just a tree, or something resembling something more human. Nature the purest form of perfection is not entirely that of perfection. Unless perspective is taken into consideration.
I use bright along with earth tones to identify to disparity between truth and perspective. I utilise lines to traverse the mountainous climb of emotion bringing together a piece that traverse the climb of perspective vs emotion.

Lisa Mutch
Lisa will be exhibiting at Artwalk on: June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1
Art Mutch is the alter ego of Lisa Mutch, a new local artist in Southwest Edmonton. Lisa has been rediscovering her love of art and revitalizing her love of photography during the pandemic, and is now hoping to share some of those artistic endeavours with you. Lisa focuses on travel, historic, and natural themes in her art and photography, but pretty much anything that is visually interesting is fair game in art! When possible, to make wise use of Earth’s resources, materials are reused and repurposed, rather than bought new or being destined for the dump. This includes using a discarded sales table, wood scraps being turned into frames, buying charity shop frames, and mat discards being cut for a smaller size, or reused in art cards. All work is done in-house, other than the frames made from waste wood by another local artisan. I hope you enjoy my work!

Roleza Marzan
Roleza will be exhibiting at Artwalk on: May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4 and September 1
In my childhood, I had a dream in my sleep, overjoyed by the experience of painting. As an artist, I like to combine realism and surrealism, the energy that fuels my passions. It is my goal that my audience not only want to touch my artworks but step inside my paintings and bring them to places that enrich their souls. “The Colours of the Wind”, my first gallery exhibit, is a collection of Canadian Rockies in oil that showcases the pristine mountains and lakes of Canada. I especially want to show the colours that stimulate me. I started to focus in art since 2018. I believe that as a creator there is no limit for creativity. I expanded my artwork into different expression and distortions of realities using different mediums, subjects and styles. I love to experiment, play with colors and apply and constantly learning.

Maggie Godziuk
Maggie will be exhibiting at Artwalk on: June 2, July 7 and August 4
My name is Maggie Godziuk and I am a student at the University of Alberta. I have always had a love for arts and crafts, but I specialize in acrylic landscapes. My paintings are post-impressionist in style. I take outdoor landscape scenes and amplify or change the colours in order to draw the eye in and emphasize how colourful our natural world actually is. I also like my paintings to evoke familiarity and comfort in the viewer; that they've seen this scene before on their morning walks or from a childhood memory.

I started my journey in the art world young. I come from an artistic family full of musicians and artists-from family members playing rock and bluegrass to others that are glassblowers and sculptors. I myself love to paint, draw, collage and blog. I have always had an artistic outlet. I have been a picture framer, worked in an art gallery and as a kitchen designer for over 20 years. A few years ago I decided I needed to go to university and get a certificate in visual arts, which I accomplished with distinction. My styles of art range from realism-still life paintings, to fun collage work and pop art style portraits. I also write a weekly blog based on the art I love and what has influenced me. Painting and writing are my true passions in life.

Drawing on her love of nature Brenda artfully brings together wildflowers, found objects, seasonal flowers, fruits, vegetables, and bits of found nature to build compositions reminiscent of special memories and everyday moments. Several compositions are constructed inside vintage frames before they are photographed. Reminiscent of the elaborate frames found framing the historical still-life paintings further speaking to her inspiration from the Dutch still-life genre. This collection is filled with objects carefully designed to remind you that even the mundane bits of our lives can create beautiful compositions.
